Perks of being a single child

Just to clarify #1: No, I don’t mean my relationship statues although that would be accurate as well.

Jtc #2: My brother is still very much alive, he’s just staying with a friend to celebrate their first week of summer holiday.

Even though I don’t want to be a single (or is it only?) child forever (who’d play Mario Cart with me!?) I have noticed the occasional perk:

♣ having the ice cream tub all to myself

♣ getting to watch Sex and the City and Pretty Woman whenever I want

althooooough there is a slight downside:

♣ when mom’s off to work I can crank up the music as loud as I want and sing at the top of my voice (there has been the occasional complaint from the neighbors though….. clearly I don’t sing very well…..)

♣ I can walk around wearing nothing more than a big baggy shirt without weird glances from judgy people (looking at you, bro)

♣ I can practice my dancing skills (which are about as good as my singing skills) uninterrupteddance hula smiley

I feel like this list would’ve been longer last week, I’m starting to miss the little biscuit……..*ahem* as a Mario Cart partner of course, what did you think?

  1. Sooooooooo gonna miss my brother when he goes to college. Is your brother younger or older than you?

    • Cora

He’s about 2 years younger. Yours?

  2. A little less than a year older. I think you may have read his blog, the Window Philosopher? I seem to remember seeing you in the comments section there…could be wrong though.

Ohmygosh yes of course I know him!!!!! I adore his blog!! But he stopped writing regularly so now a see/read a lot less of him. Gosh I feel like I’m talking to a celebrity. Tell him hi for me, please? :)

      • Ha! He’s pretty popular in the “real world” too, ( he sings, and plays organ and piano,) so people always come up to me and say,
        “Are you Luke’s sister?”
I agree, his blog is pretty awesome. And so is yours.

        • Cora

Yes, I know what you mean. It’s the same with my brother, everybody knows him.
And thank you, that’s so sweet of you to say!!

  3. I have an older half brother, but he lives far away from me. So, I’ve been raised as an only child most of my life. It definitely has its perks and its drawbacks. I love playing Mario Kart too! I usually play by myself though, haha :/

Well, a definite perk of playing Mario Kart by yourself is that you can get all the trophies and unlock new characters. That’s something a Mario Kart due can’t achieve. :)
