Me This Month .September 2016.

[Apologize for the one day delay. My mom made me go to this grown-up party two hours away from where we live and by the time we got home I was limper than a piece of untoasted toast!]

Oh my gosh I it’s been so long since I last did a Me This Month!

Time flies when you have nothing to do tongue

My Book This Month:

Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg (please take a moment to appreciate the awesomeness of that name).

Fannie Flagg's Awesome Book

This is such a good book. seriously, read it! The writing is so sweet and engaging and the plot oh my gosh. I don’t to spoil anything but I did NOT see dat comin’.

My Pet Peeve This Month:

FRUITFLIES!! dislike smiley

Oh my freaking gosh I can’t even begin to describe this profound loathing I feel for those little suckers.

When ever I see one of those little creatures I just %§&@%!

*takes deep calming breath*

Let’s just say I really, really don’t like them.

My Obsession This Month:

So so you guys remember how much I love, love, love Twenty One Pilots?

Well, if you don’t you do now. I adore them. (I can’t wait to go to their concert on the 5th of November!!)

Anyways, they brought out this new single “Heathens” and I just

I also really like Sia’s new song “The Greatest”. (Can you believe I used to not like Sia?? Like what the heck did I listen to all day?)

Oh and how did I forget to mention this another huge obsession of mine this month is getting my driver’s license!!! I already started with the theory lessons and my goal is to be able to drive legally by the end of this year.

My Victory This Month:

I drove!!

I drove for the very first time ever!!

Like in a car with stick shift and everything! (Frankly, I feel I’m more of an automatic type a gal.)

And I managed not kill and or injury anyone! Although I did get stuck at an intersection because I couldn’t get the first gear in without killing the engine and there were like 50 cars behind me all honky and annoyed and I’m pretty sure quite a few people came late to work that day…

Albeit as exciting as it was, it was simultaneously one of the most terrifying moments of my life. By the time the 100 minutes were over I was drenched in sweat, shaking and it took 30 minutes to regain the feeling in my hands because I’d been clutching the steering wheel like my life depended on it.

My Cookies This Month:

I didn’t bake anything this month, can you believe!? Not a single cookie, cupcake or brownie to be found. I guess I’ve just been too busy, lazy, hectic, lethargic, active, idle? (Pick your adjective.)

I can, however, offer this picture of a cookie I had on the flight back from London.

Cookie and Apple Juice on Plane

  1. As far as books go, I would probably recommend the Club of Queer Trades or The Man Who Was Thursday by G.K. Chesterton. (And when the Club of Queer Trades was written “queer” did not mean what it means now, just so ya know.) Chesterton can be a little hard to get used to, but he was a brilliant writer. Also, you can never go wrong with any of the Sherlock Holmes stories. I’ve read them all twice. I think I may already have recommended Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell in the past.
I’m honored that one of my posts made it into your favorite links this month, thanks so much!

    • Thank you so much for the recommendations! My reading list practically nonexistent at the moment and I don’t know about you but finishing a book and not knowing what to read next is one of the worst feelings in the world if you ask me!
      You’re welcome! I hope I don’t come across as pretentious or something…. ??

      • Oh, not at all.
I think at the moment there is one book I was reading and forgot about and want to pick back up, and then I am attempting to read, (and in the case of two of these books, re-read,) the Leatherstocking Tales by James Fenimore Cooper. Beautifully written, classic literature, but sooooo long, a bit dull at times, and there are, I think, four of them. (?) I am only on the first, and loving it, but I really don’t know when I’ll ever be done, so for me, not knowing what to read next isn’t a big issue right now. ;)

  2. Thanks for including my post (:
If you liked The Greatest, you should definitely check out Sia’s music if you haven’t already! My favourite album is This Is Acting ?

    • Your welcome :) I hope I don’t come across as too pretentious or something ?
Yes, I recently downloaded just that on Spotify!! I especially love Footprints, Bird Set Free, Cheap Thrills, Unstoppable, ok who am I kidding I love everything!!

      • Lord have mercy on my soul YOU’RE******!!!!

      • No, not at all!
Bird set free is definitely one of my favourites ? Her voice is just amazing! Also, I’m pretty sure I used the wrong version of “you’re” till I was about 15 so I’m sure the Lord will have mercy on your soul ?

  3. Yayyyy for driving, Cora! Isn’t it kinda stressful? I prefer sitting in the passenger seat myself ;)
